Abstract
Ten cases of bile peritonitis associated with cholecystitis were reviewed. Over all incidence of bile peritonitis with cholecystitis was 2.7%(10/365). Nine(90%) cases of the patient were over 60 year old age and most frequent duration of symptom was around 7 days. Short duration of symptom appears to be resulted in generalized peritonitis and long duration of symptom to be resulted in localized peritonitis. Most of them had conincidence with stone(80%). Preoperative correct diagnosis was very low(20%), but combined careful physical examination and ultrasonography appears to be most useful diagnostic tool for perforation of gallbladder. If the patient do not have serious condition that cannot take operation or is not under the suspicion of malignancy, we recommend early operation if possible and it will make the mortality or morbidity lower.
